iProtect Access / Security | How To Articles |

This document gives information on how to setup card number emulation on a i80p reader. Often called pincode-only use. For the user this acts like a pincode but in the iProtect™ user interface it is a normal access card with pincode behaviour.

This how to will assume you already have an i80p reader functioning with normal access cards.

Go to Menu option: Access > Settings > Card coding > Card number presentation

  • Right-click in the browse window (left bottom)

  • Select “Add Card number presentation”.

  • The detail window of the selected menu item appears and fill in a name (e.q. Card Emulation (PIN)).

  • Fill in Calculated length (4).

  • Click on the Save button.

  • Right-click in the browse window on the new created Card number presentation.

  • Select “Add card data interpretation”.

  • Fill in a name (e.q. Card emulation setup).

  • Select at “Key for exclusive pincode use” the startkey for pincode use (for example 4) .

    • The startkey (4) will always be the first key for the pincode.

In this case the pincode used at the i80p will be 41234

When you want iProtect™ to fill in a random pin in the card dialogue, you must enable it.
