The purpose of this guide is to explain the provisioner with some examples.
Essentials:
Sufficient rights to create a provisioner.

Configuration:
In iProtect 8.04 there are provisioner for lines and nodes. iProtect 9.10 and higher is necessary for provisioning of reader configurations. iProtect 10.1 and higher is needed for reader firmware upgrades (Pluto - Orion - RS485 only).
Example 1 - New reader manager
Step 1 - Save the file to iProtect
Go to the media element to upload the new reader manager:
General > Settings > Media element
Right-click in the left panel and select “Add media element”
Set the Type to “PROVISIONER” and upload the new reader manager with the “Upload” button. use as name the full name of the reader manager file. Press save and the first step is done.
Step 2 - Make a provisioner element.
Go to “Provisioner element”:
Installation > Settings > Provisioner > Provisioner element
Right-click in the left panel and select “Add provisioner element”
Set the type to “Pluto - Reader manager” and select the file you just have uploaded at “Provisioner file”. And make it the same name. Also set the provisioner element active and press the “Save” button.
Step 3 - Make a provisioner group.
You can’t change system generated provisioner groups, so the best is to make a new one now
Go to “Provisioner group”:
Installation > Settings > Provisioner > Provisioner group
Right-click in the left panel and select “Add provisioner element”
Set the provisioner type to “Line”, give it a logical name and press “Save”. A provisioner element list item will appear below the provisioner group name in the left panel, select it and you can select the element from the list on the right:
Press “Save” to save the new provisioner group.
Step 4 - Select the provisioner at the Line.
Go to “Line”:
Installation > Hardware > Line
And select the Line which has to be updated with the new reader manager.
Select the new provisioner group at “Provisioner group”, newer versions of iProtect will show a “Install update” button which have to be pressed to start te update, otherwise it will start when the “Save” button is pressed.
Click on the Pluto on the left to refresh te page and you will see the progress at the “Elements to update” and “Elements in progress”.
0 means that it is busy with the one element, if you see 1 or higher, then the numbers is the que length..
Example 2 - New reader firmware
Step 1 - Save the file to iProtect

Set the Type to “PROVISIONER” and upload the new reader manager with the “Upload” button. use as name the full name of the reader manager file. Press save and the first step is done.

Go to “Provisioner element”:
Installation > Settings > Provisioner > Provisioner element
Right-click in the left panel and select “Add provisioner element”
Set the type to “Reader - Sirius iX firmware” and select the file you just have uploaded at “Provisioner file”. And make it the same name. Also set the provisioner element active and press the “Save” button.
Step 3 - Make a provisioner group.
You can’t change system generated provisioner groups, so the best is to make a new one now
Go to “Provisioner group”:
Installation > Settings > Provisioner > Provisioner group
Right-click in the left panel and select “Add provisioner element”
Set the provisioner type to “Node”, give it a logical name and press “Save”. A provisioner element list item will appear below the provisioner group name in the left panel, select it and you can select the element from the list on the right:
Press “Save” to save the new provisioner group.
Step 4 - Select the provisioner at the Node.
Go to “Line”:
Installation > Hardware > Line
And select the Line which has to be updated with the new reader manager. Open the line ([+]) and select the reader manager.
Select the new provisioner group at “Provisioner group” and press the “Save” button. newer versions of iProtect will show a “Install update” button at the line which have to be pressed to start the update, otherwise it will start when the “Save” button is pressed.
