VDG Sense | Setup | Device Groups

Device groups have two primary functions in Sense.

Device groups define which cameras a user is allowed to see.
Device groups can be set to a sequence

What is a Camera Sequence?

A camera sequence is a group of devices that can be placed in a live video panel to display each device for a specified amount of time. Camera sequence are useful to display multiple cameras in a single layout without manually switching each device.

Creating a sequence

Open tab ’Device groups’ to create a device group. On the left side is the list of created device groups. Using the buttons below the list device groups can be added, removed or edited. On the right side is the list of cameras.

Click ’+’ below the ’Device group’ list to create a device group. A dialog appears where the name of the device group can be entered. Use a meaningful name, like ’Ground Floor Sequence’. Click ’Ok’ to close the dialog and add the device group to the list. Drag and drop the cameras from the cameralist on the right to one of the device groups on the left.

Finally, click the “Camera Sequence” checkbox in the ‘Device group settings’. Set a time interval (in seconds) for the sequence and click save. Assign the sequence to a user group, and that user will now have access to that camera sequence.

In live mode, open the Live menu and open the “Camera sequence” item. There you will find all created sequences. Place the sequence in a Video panel to display the sequence.

Note: When multiple sequence are placed in a (multi)-layout with different intervals, Sense will automatically use the shortest interval for all sequences.
