Introduction

3D PTZ refers to the 3D Positioning feature in the Hikvision cameras (i.e. PanoVu) which allows the user to use the mouse and select a portion of the videostream on which the device should focus and zoom on. Some of the PanoVu devices also feature multiple static lenses that create a live panoramic view with a secondary dome device for PTZ movement. With this feature, the user can also use this panoramic view to control the dome.

3D PTZ control

To use 3D PTZ, create a layout with at least a live video panel and a live control panel. Place the device in the video panel and open the layout in live. In the live control panel, click the 3D button to enable 3D PTZ.

In the Live Video panel, you can perform the following actions:

  • Hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse to the lower right on the live
video. The corresponding position will be moved to the center of the live video and
    zoomed in.

  • Hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse to the upper left on the live
video. The corresponding position will be moved to the center of the live video and
    zoomed out.

To disable 3D PTZ, toggle the 3D PTZ button in the Live Control panel.

3D PTZ control in PanoVu panoramic stream

The same 3D PTZ actions can also be performed on the panoramic view of Hikvision PanoVu devices by enabling the 3D PTZ in the Live Control Panel and performing the zoom actions on a Video panel showing this panoramic stream. The PTZ movement will be performed on the dome camera on the device.
