1. Introduction

This document describes how to connect the IPC-SP54 (motorized card reader) to an Orion door controller and how to program it in iProtect.

This IPC-SP54 (Motorized card reader) is supported with: Sirius reader (D0/D1)

3. iProtect reader settings

This chapter describes how to create the motorized card reader with and without vehicle detection.

3.1 Add reader

  • In iProtect, browse to menu: Installation | Hardware | Node

  • Enter the controller name to which the motorized card reader should be connected or add a new Orion door controller.

  • Right click on the "Orion Node" that was just selected or created and choose "Add reader".

  • Enter a logic “Name“, select a “Sub number“ (reader 1 or reader 2).

  • In tab General, select the “Card data interpretation“ and press save.

  • In tab Door behavior, create an area change “from area” X to area “outside for access control”.

3.1.1 With vehicle detection

In the Input/Output tab of the reader, select “Motorized card reader” under I/O type and make the following settings:

3.1.2 Without vehicle detection

In the Input/Output tab of the reader, select “Motorized card reader” under I/O type and make the following settings:

3.1.3 Reader | Other

To determine how you handle the visitor cards, at "Visitors” and “Log out visitor" you can choose from:

  • Always de-register visitor

  • De-register visitor at last day

  • De-register visitor at last two days

  • Don’t de-register visitor

Only when using “Don’t de-register visitor” the card will never be taken.

3.2 Access card

  • In iProtect, browse to menu: Access | Card

  • Enter the person's name and press search.

  • Select this person's card where the motorized card reader should take the card in one of the following conditions:

    • Keep card (Always

    • Keep card on last day

    • Keepcard on last two days
