On the Monitor tab, the monitors that are used for displaying layouts can be configured. The number of monitors available is read by the Sense software and for each monitor, a line is displayed with the monitor name, resolution, type and address.

The name of the monitor can be changed. This name is displayed in the toolbar that is visible at the top of the screen of each monitor.

Monitors can be disabled by clicking the on/off button next to the monitor number.

Monitor order

The monitor list cannot be manually sorted, and will instead follow a predefined order:

  1. Monitor Type

    1. Local Monitors

    2. Decoders

    3. Remote Monitors

  2. IP Address

  3. Name

CAUTION: When monitors or decoders are added that fall higher in the hierarchy, note that any existing multi-layouts need to be reconfigured due to the new order of monitors.

Decoders and remote monitors

Remote monitors can be added with the ’+’-button. A remote monitor can be either a decoder or a monitor from a remote Sense client. In the ’Add monitor’-dialog you can give the monitor a name, choose its type and set the IP-address. The ’Remote Client’ type uses its name to find the monitor on the other system. Therefor its name should be the same as an existing monitor on the remote client. Monitors can be deleted with the ’-’-button. Monitors of type ’Local’ can not be deleted. Monitors can be edited with the ’E’-button.

Searching decoders

Use the ’Find Decoders’-button to start searching all connected decoders in the local network. In the dialog, a decoder can be checked, and when the ’Add’-button is clicked the decoder is added to the list of monitors. Decoders can only be added once.

Searching remote monitors

Use the ’Find Sense Clients’-button to start searching all connected Sense clients in the local network. In the dialog, monitors from a remote client can be checked, and when the ’Add’-button is clicked the monitor is added to the list of monitors. Remote monitors can only be added once.
