Standard since 1994

Standard plate issued since 1994 in black on white. To the left of the registration is the national flag above TM. The first registration letter/s represent the city or province where they were issued.

Trailer since 2012

Trailer plate issued from 2012 in black on white. To the left of the registration is the national flag above TM, and after two pairs of numerals, the postfix TR stands for trailers.

Government owned since 1994

White on green plate issued from 1994 for official government vehicles. To the left of the registration is the national flag above TM. Begins with a four-digit number using lead zeros usually in two separated pairs, two letters denoting the province and a third serial letter, this last character usually depicts the type of vehicle.

Foreigner owned since 1996

Black on yellow plate issued from 1996 for vehicles owned by foreigners and foreign companies. To the left of the registration is the national flag above TM. The registration begins with a numeral denoting the province H or TDG followed by a series of numerals.

dHddddd, dHTdddd, TDGdddd

Diplomatic since 1994

The diplomatic corps have had white on reflective blue plates with a two-digit embassy and the letters CD and a number commencing from 001. To the left of the registration is the national flag above TM.
