Description:

The purpose of this guide is to explain in usage of the OwnCA certificate in windows. In the maintenance page of iProtect you can generate a certificate for iProtect and using the own root certificate of TKH security in Windows there will be no certificate warning in the browser anymore.

Essentials:.

  • Windows administrator rights

  • iProtect

  • Atlas user credentials

Configuration:

Set up the certificate using the following KB-article:

Example:

During an installation of iProtect 10.2 or an update from iProtect 10.1 to 10.2, an OnwCA is automatically generated.

Downloading the needed files.

The download can be found at the Download tab, with the “CA certificate” button a zip file is downloaded.

The file is named “iprotect-cert.zip” and contains two files, iprotect-own-root.crt and server.crt. Extract iprotect-own-root.crt to your desktop.

Installing the iprotect-own-root.crt.

Double-click on the file and a window will pop up:

Click on the “Install Certificate…” button.

If you use the client machine with more than 1 user, select the Store Location on Local Machine. Otherwise just press “Next”.

In the following window, use the following settings:

Click on “Next” and in the last window click on “Finish”

Accept the RSA key window if needed and the certificate is imported:

After een reboot of the client, all should work.
