1 About this manual

1.1 Positioning of the sensor

The sensing device is partially enclosed and mounted to the PCB, so the time to respond to temperature change will be relatively slow.
The sensor should not be placed in direct sunlight, as the radiant heat will become trapped inside the enclosure and will cause higher readings.

1.2 Casing

The sensor is contained in a plastic box with flanges for convenient mounting.
This enclosure is not weatherproof and must only be used indoor.
The casing has a cutout and a screen. The screen will protect the sensor and keeps foreign materials outside. It is also needed to create an slow airflow inside the sensor housing which is needed to measure the temperature and humidity.

Note! When testing the device, DO NOT USE any flammable objects or liquids (e.g. a lighter
or pressurized gas) nearby the cutout of the casing. It will cause irreparable damage
to the sensor!

1.3 Connectors

A shielded RJ-45 connector on either end of the unit allows for a simple connection of the sensor.
The type of cable which must be used between the controller and the sensor is: STP or S/FTP cable.

Note! The 571-1013 temperature and humidity sensor is not Ethernet compatible.

1.4 Two dimensional bar codes

The temperature and humidity sensor will be provided of two stickers with a unique serialnumber. One sticker ending with a T (temperature) and one with a V (humidity).

1.5 Pin-out

The shields of the two connectors are connected together. The shield connection is not connected to circuit ground or any part of the sensor circuit.

1.5.1 Connection to Apollo

Cable: Straight STP or S/FTP

1.5.2 Connection to Orion

Cable: Straight STP or S/FTP
