Introduction

This document is a quick guide to read events from a Commend intercom server GE300 or GE800 version by use of Comlog.

*note* For the proper functioning of the functions, as described in this document an SNTP server is necessary.

1 Software

In order to download the events from an intercom server, a program is needed called Comlog. This program will be installed along with CCT800 installer.

Download the latest software from the Commend website, current used version can be downloaded from the following link:

https://clibrary-online.commend.com/download/c0SZ-658a

Mandatory components are installed or updated in any case. The installation package contains:

Central Configuration Tool CCT 800

IPStationConfig (Upgraded along with CCT 800)

ComLOG (Upgraded along with CCT 800)

VirtuoBRO (selectable)

Npcap

2. Comlog

Comlog has 2 basic functions.
1. Have a look at the live icx messages and send some messages, this can be used for maintenance.
2. Read the events from the Commend server.

In order to read the events, the time must be right in the intercom server. This could be set on the CCT800 configuration software. With use of an SNTP server.

Starting

After the installation you can run ComLOG from the Windows start menu, or by clicking on the desktop icon.

2.2 Userinterface

The image displayed above will give you an overview off all the necessary components and settings needed to connect and read events from an intercom server.

To read from the intercom server, you need to connect to the intercom server. The first step is to set the correct network interface.

This could be established when you click on the TCP button on the bottom of the screen. A new dialog box will appear.

Here you must set the IP settings of the intercom server (GEP card) and select the “Connect” button.

2.3 download the Event

To download the event log from the server when connected, you must use the “Event LOG” button on the screen. A new dialog box appears.

In the dialog box, you can select all events or a specific time path. This time path depends on the time of the intercom server, as shown in chapter 2.

When the time path is selected, you can read the events by use of the Read button at the top of the dialog box

3 Save the output

When you have the log in front of you, this log could be saved to have a look later on.
To save the output from comlog, there are 2 ways.
1. By selecting the checkbox “Save output” on the EventLog dialog screen:

2. When the data is loaded on the screen, you could use the Windows system to save the output. Go to File and save the data like you used to.

4 Output

The output from this event log will be shown as:

The Cmd/Msg is the ICX message, this is a Commend protocol, the legenda of this protocol is found at the ICX document on the Commend cLibrary on the Commend website.

The time from the logging is the time from the intercom server. This time is adjusted by setting the time server to the intercom server.

The Decoded description is how we can understand the data. This data shows us the possible problems that occur in this specific timestamp.
