By default, this service not installed and needs to be added manually. Follow the steps below to add and configure this service.

To install the SNMP-service  in Windows 10 (version 1809 or higher):

With Windows 10 version 1809, the process of enabling SNMP changed. SNMP is an optional feature as of this Windows 10 version. You can enable it as follows.

1. Open the Settings on your Windows machine.Click Apps.

2. Choose Manage optional features under Apps & features.

3. Click Add a feature.

4. Select Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) from the list.

5. Click Install to enable SNMP on your computer.

To install the SNMP-service  in Windows 10 (version 1803 or lower):

1. Activate SNMP on windows programs and features:

2. Open Control Panel | Program and Features | Turn Windows features on or off.

3. Check Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).

4. Restart Windows for the changes to take effect.

Configuring SNMP :

1. Configure SNMP with public readonly rights.

2. Open Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services (services.msc).

3. Open SNMP properties.

4. Open Tabblad Security.

5. Add community name: ‘public’ READONLY

6. Check Accept SNMP packets from any host.

7. Close the dialog.

8. Restart the SNMP Service.
