Introduction
This article explains the functionality of the server tab. The server tab shows the list of servers in the installation and lets the user change server related settings of the servers in the list. Servers can be added, modified or removed from the list. The server tab also provides the ability to find Sense servers in the local network / subnet. Explanation of the individual tabs ‘Generall , ‘Advanced’, ‘Client settings’, ‘Server Status’ and ‘Installed CarR Countries’ are explained in different articles.
On the lower left corner of the screen there are four buttons:
‘+’ button:
Add server to list using IP address or domain name‘-‘ button:
Remove server from listpencil button:
Edit selected server‘Find Servers’ button:
Opens dialog to find servers in the local network/subnet
Add Server
To add a server to the server list, press ‘+’. There are two ways of adding a server to the list: by IP address or by domain name. The servers can be reachable in the local network or via a remote connection. If remote servers (i.e. via internet) are added it is crucial the Sense communication ports are forwarded in the local router. Click here for more information about Sense port usage.
Remove Server
To remove a server from the list press ‘-‘. If the server is assigned to a user group it will display a warning message. Press ‘Yes’ to remove it from the list, and ‘No’ to cancel. Check user management after removing the server and this message appeared:
Edit Server
To edit the IP address or Domainname of the server press pencil or double-click on the server.
Find Servers
Press ‘Find Servers’ to open the dialog where servers which are found in the local network/subnet are shown. To add one or more servers, check the corresponding checkboxes and press ‘Add’ to add the servers and close the dialog.
