PTZ Keyboards

The NVH-KEY1003 keyboard comes with joystick and 9 preset hotkeys and provides basic PTZ control in VDG Sense. USB powered for an easy plug-and-play use with only one cable. 

Keyboard installation

Keyboard needs to be set to ‘USB Joystick’ mode in order to work in VDG Sense.

Press and hold ‘Window/Channel’ key (below number ‘7’) for five seconds to switch between keyboard mode and joystick mode. The window indicator leds (above number ‘1’) need to be both on when in Joystick mode.

VDG Sense installation

To activate the keyboard, login into Sense and open the configuration mode. Click the System tab.

In the column PTZ Keyboard settings select the keyboard type “Standard Joystick” or “NVH-KEY1003”. Click the checkbox Active. The Keyboard Status should now read Connected.

Note: The “Standard Joystick” driver will have the F1 and F2 keys located on the stick. The NVH-KEY1003 driver (available in 2.6.1) will have the F1 and F2 keys as labeled on the device. The joystick buttons will act as F5 and F6 in this case

Functions

Preset selection

Camera to preset 1 = press numerical number ‘1’ on keyboard. F1 is used for preset 13, F2 for preset 14, F3 for preset 15 (according to the number that appears in the display)

PTZ

Use joystick to pan, tilt and zoom. Rotate joystick to zoom in and out

Joystick buttons

up to Sense 2.5.7:
The two buttons on top of the joystick are used for “Go Home Preset” and “Turn 180 degrees”

Sense 2.5.8+:
The two buttons on top of the joystick trigger a signal ‘OperatorEvent’ with the value ‘PTZ.Keyboard.Key=F4‘ and ‘PTZ.Keyboard.Key=F5‘. This ‘OperatorEvent’ can be used in a viewerMacro to execute a (number of) actions, for example switch a layout on monitor x…etc etc. The buttons on the bottom are marked for F1, F2 and F3.
