The Cosmos Access application will be used by users of the Access Control System in order to keep the virtual access card and setup the communication between the Mobile Device and the Sirius IX30 card reader.
Once the Cosmos Access application is installed, the user can be invited by one or multiple organizations. Per registered organization a virtual access card will be added into the Cosmos Access application.
Installation
Download and install the Cosmos Access application:
Android
Minimum required versions:
Android version 7
API version 24
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tkhsecurity.cosmosaccess
iOS
Minimum required versions:
iOS version: 13
After successful installation, the mobile application can be launched and is ready to be registered to the first organization.
In case of iOS: the ApplePay suppression message is normal. This will prevent the pop-up of your wallet when you are holding your mobile device in front of a Sirius iX30 card reader.
Registration
Via the Access Control System an invitation can be send to invite a user receive a virtual access card. The invitation will be send to an Email address.
By pressing Register, the Cosmos Access application should open and proceed the registration process.
When the Registration button doesn’t work, which can be caused by:
Email-policy,
Invitation mail is at your desktop instead at your mobile device,
Then there are two other possibilities to continue. Please go to the “My Organizations” page and press at the Green “+” button.
Scan QR Code: This will open a QR code reader which you can use to scan the QR code from the invitation email. The registration will complete automatically.
Invitation code: The code at the bottom of the invitation email can be copied. You can paste this registration code here. The Cosmos Access app will recognize this invitation code and will notify the user.
Once the registration was successful, the organization will be added into the “my organization” list.
It’s possible to get the mobile devices registered to multiple organizations.
Using the application
Scan & Go
With Scan & Go, if the mobile device is in range of the reader, the mobile application will automatically set up the communication readers nearby to transfer the Virtual access card.
The animation of the main screen will show the status of the transmission and if this was successful.
Token sent complete in green text when successful.
Token sent failed in red text when unsuccessful.
Depending on the settings of the Sirius iX card reader, the working distance is usually 20CM.
Select & Go
With Select & Go the Cosmos Access app will shows the readers in range. By pressing the button, the virtual access card will be sent.
Depending on the reader settings, the distance varies between 1.5M and 10M.

The following settings are available into the Cosmos Access application:
Beep: Lets the mobile device beep after a successful token transfer
Vibration: Lets the mobile device vibrate after a successful token transfer
Light theme: Switch between Light and Dark modus
Language: Switch the in-app language
Power signal strength: Slightly adjust the sensitivity of the mobile device:
Low: less sensitive to archive a shorter distance
Medium: medium sensitive to archive a average distance
High: high sensitive to archive a longer distance
Background mode: Allows to enable or disable background mode
Background mode
Background functionality in Cosmos Access allows user to open the door, after presenting their device to the card reader, without having an application opened.
Users need to enable their location (to always allow) in order to use Cosmos Access in the background.
Technical requirements:
The minimal iProtect version required is 10.1.37
The minimal ReaderManager version required is 5.03.56
The minimal Sirius FW version required is 2.8.2
older Sirius FW versions remain work with Scan & Go and Select & Go.
For iOS: Cosmos Access works always in the background if the background setting is enabled, without the need of opening an app.
For Android: Cosmos Access always needs to be opened first and then minimised to work in the background.
The performance of background processing speed highly depends on the priority given by the mobile device. If the functionality hasn’t being used for a while, the first time after will take a bit more time. Afterwards the priority has raised and it will work faster. This is unfortunately behaviour we can’t control on the mobile device.
Synchronisation in the background:
For iOS:
Synchronisation worker is scheduled to run every time the app is moved to the background. Every 4 hours it should check if it’s allowed to sync and every 8 hours synchronisation should be performed. For the background task two requirements was set: phone must be connected to external power and it must have network connectivity available.
Android:
Synchronisation worker is scheduled to run every time the app is started. Every 6 hours it should check if it’s allow to sync and every 12 hours synchronisation should be performed. Of course, we cannot be sure that these tasks will be performed exactly at the scheduled time, nor can we be sure that they will be performed at all. Much depends on the system. Some versions of android may disable network activity and sleep background tasks and perform them later than scheduled.
Additionally, each time the application is opened, the application checks whether synchronization has been performed in the last 12 hours. If the synchronization in the background has not been performed, the application will synchronize after opening it.
