2. Installation
To ensure proper functioning of the equipment, the environment of the Sirius iX30-IK must be compliant with certain conditions.
The Sirius iX30-IK operates between a temperature of -30°C and + 60°C.
The connection of the Sirius iX30-IK depends on the chosen output.
2.1 Measurements
2.2 Location
The Sirius iX30-IK card reader is suitable for indoor and outdoor usage.
Determine the location where the Sirius iX30-IK card reader should be installed. Please notices that there is a maximum cable length, depending on the output, between the card reader and the door controller chapter 3.4.4. Exception: by using an external power supply, the achievable distance can be increased.
To secure IK10-rating, Sirius iX30-IK must be mounted on a flat surface and fastened with the screws and plugs according to chapter 2.3 mounting steps.
Keep a minimum distance of 20cm between Sirius iX30-IK card readers.
The Sirius iX30-IK should preferably not be installed directly on metal.
The Sirius iX30-IK should not be mounted higher than two meters.
2.3 Mounting steps
Mounting the card reader preferably on a flat surface and usage of specified screws and plugs to ensure IK-10 rating!
Drill four holes for mounting the backplate on the preferred location. 4x8mm holes intended for plugs in case of a concrete surface.
Pull the cable through hole in the backplate. Hole can be enlarged by usage of thicker cable.
Fasten the backplate on the surface with subscribed screws. The head of the screws must be at least 10mm wide. Please notice that the screw hole of the card reader must be placed on the underside.
Remove the 9-pins connector from the front plate.
Connect the cable to the connector. See chapter 3.4.Â
Click the connector back on the front plate.
Put the front plate of the Sirius card reader on top of the backplate and smoothly close the front plate A click should be heard when both plates are attached together.
Secure top and bottom plates by two torq screw at the underside of the reader.

---|---|---|
UID | 10 digits | 17 digits |
Result | 123467890 | 123456789012 |
3.1.3 IPR-iX30-iK10-PRM
The Sirius iX10 IPR-iX30-iK10 does not have any configuration by default. Programming the Sirius IPR-iX30-iK10 depends on the interface.
Interface / protocol | How to program |
RS485 | Reader configuration file |
Clock/data | TKH Security configuration card |
3.1.3.1 Configuration card
If the reader is not used with RS485, a configuration card can be used to program the reader to the customer needs. Settings like the default LED color and brightness, Wiegand or Clock/data output and key material can be changed. To program the programmable reader, a customer specific (config) card is needed.
This configuration card can be ordered at TKH Security via cardconfig@tkhsecurity.com.
3.1.3.2 Programming procedure
Connect the card reader.
Switch on the power. The card readers LED turns into BLUE.
Present the configuration card and wait until the card reader restarts.
The card readers LED turns into RED. The configuration is complete.
3.2 Sticker
The Sirius iX30-IK is provided with two stickers:
The symbol above and on the product means that the product is classed as Electrical or Electronic equipment and should not be disposed with other household or commercial waste at the end of its useful life. The Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive has been put in place to recycle products using best available recovery and recycling techniques to minimize the impact on the environment, treat and hazardous substances and avoid the increasing landfill. Contact local authorities for information on the correct disposal of Electrical or Electronic equipment.
3.3 Interfaces
The following interfaces are by default available on the Sirius iX30-IK.
Label | Interface | Description |
