VDG Sense AppleTV client’s fast and simple interface, which has been designed for the 4th generation Apple TV, makes monitoring your security feeds easily accessible from your living room.
Requirements
AppleTV (4th generation)
VDG Sense 2.4.1 or newer
VDG Sense Apple TV client is available in the App Store on Apple TV. If you have previously downloaded VDG Sense on iPad or iPhone, browse to “Purchased” in the menu at the top, otherwise search for “VDG Sense”.
Getting started
Once the Apple TV client has been installed, the app icon will appear in your shelf menu. Open the menu by clicking on the app icon. On initial start up, you will automatically be taken to the settings menu. In this menu, enter the server address and login credentials of the security site you wish to connect to. Finally, click the “Connect to server” button to complete the process.
Device list
When starting the Sense Apple TV client, you will be taken to the Camera list menu. Use the Apple TV remote to swipe through your collection of devices. The devices are vertically sorted by ‘location’ and horizontally by device name.
Fullscreen mode
To open a device in fullscreen, click on a device in the device list. To return to the device list, click on the Apple TV remote touch surface. In fullscreen mode, you can switch to the next or previous device in the device list by swiping left or right on the Apple TV Touch surface.
If a device is PTZ-capable, it will show PTZ controls in the lower right corner. Use the Apple TV remote to swipe to a desired PTZ action and hold down the Touch surface to perform a movement action.
Search device
To search for a device, open the Search menu. Use the Apple TV remote to enter a device name, location or IP to search for a specific device.
Homescreen preview
When the VDG Sense Apple TV client has been connected to a server, you can preview your devices in the Apple TV homescreen. You can directly go to a fullscreen view of device by selecting it from the homescreen.
