PRELIMINARY FUNCTIONALITY
The Commend or Onvif Audio speaker functionality allows the user to ‘speak’ to Onvif enabled loudpeakers like the Commend AFLS 10H HG using your SenseClient application.
Note:
At the moment, only simplex mode is supported, meaning audio from Sense Client to Commend speaker.
To enable the functionality the following steps need to be done:
Configuration
Install Audio Service
Install SenseOnvifAudio service, execute the following command in either command prompt or PowerShell (in administrator mode):
Go to this directory:
C:\Program Files\VDG Security\Sense\Program\
Execute following command
Command Prompt:
SenseOnvifAudio -install
Powershell:
.\SenseOnvifAudio -install
Start SenseAudioService in Windows Services dialog:
Configure SenseClient
Change following setting in SenseClient.ini; change value to 1
[EnableCommendSpeaker]
Description=Set to 1 to view the commend speaker settings.
Value=1
Configure Commend Speaker
Start SenseClient, go to Devices tab and select Loudspeaker icon:
Add Commend speaker by pressing '+' button in the lower left corner. A dialog appears:
Configure the required settings:
Name
Name of device (user defined)
Host
Ip address of the device
Port
Port of the device (Commend speaker defaults to port 8080)
Username
Username to connect to the speaker
Password
Password to connect to the speaker
After adding the device it should appear in the list of devices:
NExt step is to enable the microphone in SenseClient, go to System tab->Client Settings and choose an input device:
Now everything is configured to start using the loudpeaker.
Usage
Enabling the speaker is done by Macros. First step is to create a layout to execute the macros. In this example a simple layout with 2 buttons to start and stop the conversation.
Double-click on the ‘Start Audio’ button to open ‘Macro Rules’ dialog, As ‘Action’ choose ‘Viewer->Start microphone conversation’:
Double-click on the ‘Stop Audio’ button to open ‘Macro Rules’ dialog, As ‘Action’ choose ‘Viewer->Stop microphone conversation’:
To use the loudspeaker go to operator mode and open the layout, when pressing the ‘Start Audio’ button the audio connection to the loudspeaker is enabled, a red microphone will appear:
To stop the audio press the ‘Stop Audio’ button to close the connection to the loudspeaker.
