VDG Sense | Setup | Devices | Dewarping

This article explains how to configure Dewarping. This function is enabled in the Advanced tab by checking the Dewarping checkbox. When enabled an extra tab appears named ‘Dewarping’, see below:

There are two types of dewarping algorithms available in VDG Sense which are explained in the following paragraphs. It depends on the choice of camera which algorithm is needed.

For more information on how to effectively use Dewarping refer to the turorial in the article about Dewarping a fisheye 360 degree camera.

VDG dewarping

VDG dewarping is enabled by selecting VDG in the ‘Dewarp algorithm’ selection box.

By default, the algorithm will try to find the ideal position of the circle when dewarping is enabled. If the automatic detection isn’t configured correctly, the dewarping circle can be moved and resized manually by using one of the 4 anchor points on the yellow circle. To retry the automatic detection, click the button “Detect circle” to rerun the algorithm automatic detection routine.

The windrose and plus and minus buttons next to the dewarped live video panel is used to PTZ the camera view. The live video is called the ‘dewarped video’.

Immervision Panomorph dewarping

Panomorph dewarping is enabled by selecting Panomorph in the ‘Dewarp algorithm’ selection box.

The panomorph algorithm will automatically detect the circle based on the selected lens type. If the image is distorted and cannot be dewarped, an error message will appear in the video panel.

The windrose and plus and minus buttons next to the dewarped live video panel is used to PTZ the camera view. The live video is called the ‘dewarped video’.
