Instruction on how to turn off and reactivate the failover mechanism.

 

Turn off failover mechanism

-login on the backup server maintenance page and go to Server > services > configuration.

-put the "service Active" status to No and press save.

 

 

-Then log in to the main server and go to Server > Service > configuration.

-put the "service Active" status to No and press save. (from this moment, iProtect is no longer accessible via the virtual ip address))

If you still want to log in to iProtect, you must log in to the primary address of the server.

 

 

 

 

Incite failover mechanism

-When the work is done you have to reactivate the service, it is very important to first put the service active on the Main server, then after +- 5 minutes you can activate the service again on the backup server.

 

-login on the Main Server maintenance page and go to Server > services > configuration.

-put the "active" service status on Yes and press save. (the virtual ip address is activated and one can log back in via the virtual address)

 

 

 

-After +- 5 minutes, log into the Backup server and go to Server > Service > configuration.

-put the "active" service status on yes and press save.
