*Assign cards to people
In iProtect™ you can control who gets access to which spaces and at what times. The system identifies people through their card or tag. This tag or card has a unique number. Your job is to make it clear to the system which person belongs to which card. You do this by linking the person record to a card record. If system code cards are used (For example: DEM-0001), each card record will contain a unique card number. Incidentally, card number “0001” can be entered as “1”. If this is not the case, one will have to read the card by means of a reader or manually enter a number. (For example, an RCN number or Mifare serial number)
This chapter assumes the use of cards with system code, unless expressly stated otherwise..
Linking a card to a person
Open the menu General | Person
In Search, enter the name you want, and then click the Search button, the name you search will be shown.
In the left frame, select the persons name, press the right mouse key, and then select Add Card..
By default, the cursor will be on Card number presentation, but in this case no choice will have to be made here
In the Person field is the name of requested person. In this window, you can specify whether the card is valid or invalid, or the validity period is unlimited or limited. Furthermore, you will see Anti Pass Back and more. Below are the different fields explained one by one, but first the concept of antipassback is explained in more detail
APB (Antipassback)
iProtect™ has facilities to require the use of presence readers and absence readers, in order to be able to carry out correct presence registration. The lending and miss use of cards is thus countered.
iProtect™ has two forms: Anti-passback and Time Anti-passback..
iProtect™ tracks the area in which a person last booked in with their card. If a reader has turned on anti-passback, iProtect™ checks that it is from the right area, otherwise access will not be granted. As a result, anti-passback promotes the consistent use of the card. Antipassback is only possible if a reader is placed at each boundary between two areas. (Book and Outbook reader)
In the case of time anti-passback enabled, a card can only be re-accessed after a certain time has passed. This prevents cards from passing on to each other.
